REC Program

The Recreation Team (REC) introduces the sport of snowboarding to youth aged 7-18 yrs. The REC team is a feeder program into our High Performance Team (HPT).

There is a beginner, intermediate and advanced (development) groups within our REC program. This team receives a full seasons pass to their local ski resort and 10 days of on snow training with a certified snowboard instructor. Along with Job training and employment opportunities.

High Performance

he High Performance (HPT) consists of experienced snowboarders who have an aspiration to compete. The HPT members compete at BC Provincials with the goal of competing at Nationals, NorAms, World Cup and the ultimate goal of the Winter Olympic Games. This team is coached in the disciplines of Slope Style, Giant Slalom and Bordercross.

The HPT members are required to sign athlete agreements which holds our athletes to a C+ average in school, drug and alcohol free, good community standing and 90% attendance to all FNST activities. In return our members earn their season pass, equipment and coaching.

Burton Riglet

Kids snowboarding has never been easier!

Riglet Snowboarding was designed to create a fun and engaging environment for kids 12 and under to find success with snowboarding, and get families riding together.

Burton has partnered with the FNSA to bring this program to schools and organizations around the world to bring snowboarding into the classroom. With interactive games and activities, snowboarding is helping engage kids in the learning process while helping to keep them active and healthy.

Canada Snowboard Partnership

This winter, First Nations Snowboard Association will be continue its successful partnership with the Canada~Snowboard Team to deliver the Aboriginal Snowboard Program (ASP) across Canada.

All Girls Program

FNST has developed a girls program which will pilot on Cypress Mountain in 2012 then later in Whistler (2014). This program is introduced to assist the transition of our REC team girls to a competitive level. The program will give them specific training, goal setting and mental training in a comfortable environment.
